By default, WordPress doesn’t allow you to share links to your posts unless they’re published. This can make things inconvenient because sometimes you might want to share a draft with someone for feedback.
Here’s a simple solution that will allow you to share drafts.
The first thing you’ll need to do is install Share a Draft, a plugin that allows you to share a draft of one or more of your posts for a specified duration. You can download it by going to Plugins > Add New and searching for it in the search bar.
Alternatively, you can download it and install it from the link below:
Plugin | Share a Draft
Once the plugin is installed, you can access the tool by going to Posts > Share a Draft. You’ll see something like this:
In the drop-down list, you can choose which draft you’d like to share and then choose the share time right below.
When you click the “share it” button, it’ll generate a link shown under “Currently shared drafts.” These are the drafts that you’re currently sharing.
Just copy the generated link and share it with anyone you want to show your article to before publishing.
Voila! A simple plugin to add a useful feature. Help others learn how to share draft posts by pinning the image at the top of this post to your Pinterest account!
