Learning how to install WordPress plugins is essential to any blogger out there. There are so many different tools you can integrate into your blog by knowing how to install them.
For example, I currently have a plugin that buffs up the security on my website so I don’t get hacked. I also have a plugin for Newsletter popups to help me get more sign-ups on my blog.
There’s literally a plugin developed for everything. However, some plugins require a payment to unlock the full features. Otherwise, most plugins are free to use.
Here are the steps to installing WordPress plugins:
1. Accessing the plugin screen
In your WordPress admin panel, click on “Plugins” on the left menu. At the very top of the screen, click on “Add New.”
2. Finding a plugin
You’re going to see a search bar on this screen that says “Search Plugins.” Use this search box to find the WordPress plugin that you’re looking for. You can use different keywords for this search to define what you’re looking for.
For example, you may want to type in “security” if you’re looking for a security plugin.
3. Installing and Activating Plugins
The final step to get your new plugins up and running is to install and activate it. Just click on the “install button” when you find the plugin you want.
After you hit install, wait a few moments until it’s done installing and then click the button that says “activate.”
