Blogging can be really time-consuming so we’re always on the hunt for new ways to save time. Good thing there are WordPress keyboard shortcuts to make writing easier and to help you finish your articles faster!
Without this list of shortcuts, you’ll have to continue stopping in the middle of writing to use your mouse to change font headings, align text, and other use other text formatting tools.
However, if you master this list of WordPress keyboard shortcuts, you can probably just toss your mouse right out the window! Just kidding, you’ll still have to hit the “publish” button at the end of it all.
Here are your shortcuts:
Editing Shortcuts:
- Undo – Ctrl + Z
- Redo – Ctrl + Y
- Select All – Ctrl + A
- Copy – Ctrl + C
- Paste – Ctrl + V
- Cut – Ctrl + X
- Highlight Individual Letters – Ctrl + Left Arrow or Right Arrow
- Highlight Words – Ctrl+ Shift + Left Arrow or Right Arrow
Text Formatting Shortcuts:
- Bold Selected Text – Ctrl + B
- Italicize Selected Text – Ctrl + I
- Underline Selected Text – Ctrl + U
- Heading 1 – Shift + Alt + 1 or “#” before typing
- Heading 2 – Shift + Alt + 2 or “##” before typing
- Heading 3 – Shift + Alt + 3 or “###” before typing
- Heading 4 – Shift + Alt + 4 or “####” before typing
- Heading 5 – Shift + Alt + 5 or “#####” before typing
- Heading 6 – Shift + Alt + 6 or “######” before typing
- Justify Text – Shift + Alt + J
- Center Text – Shift + Alt + C
- Align Text to Left – Shift + Alt + L
- Align Text to Right – Shift + Alt + R
- Strikethrough Text – Shift + Alt + D
- Toggle Ordered List – Shift + Alt + O or “1)” before typing

Hyperlink Text
- Insert Hyperlink – Ctrl + K
- Remove Hyperlink – Shift + Alt + S
- Instantly Hyperlink Text – Copy target link, select text and Ctrl + V to paste link into text
